The South Bend TradeWorks Salvage Shop

Where reclaimed materials find new life, supporting preservation,
craftsmanship, and community impact.

Shop Donations

Your material donations support sustainable building practices, trades education, and historic preservation.

We accept most building materials that are 50 years old or older.

  • Common donations: doors, windows, lighting, trim, plumbing fixtures, hardware, wood flooring, slate, and tile roofing.

  • We also accept rough sawn timbers and masonry (brick and stone), but we don’t keep a large stock of these.

  • Not accepted: appliances and furniture.

  • We do accept hand tools and working power tools for use in deconstruction.

  • Donations must be brought during shop hours. Please do not leave items at the door.

  • We do not offer pick-ups or deliveries at this time.

Coming soon: we’ll sell window glazing and sash rope, useful for window restoration and often hard to find locally.
