Preservation.
South Bend TradeWorks empowers our community through hands-on trades education, sustainable building practices, and the preservation of architectural heritage. By reclaiming materials, cultivating skilled craftsmanship, and fostering opportunities for learning and collaboration, we connect people to the built environment while strengthening neighborhoods and preserving the character of historic places for future generations.
The Salvage Shop:
Giving historic materials a second life.
The South Bend TradeWorks Salvage Shop rescues reusable building materials from demolition and renovation projects, giving them a second life through resale, education, and preservation. Proceeds support trades training, sustainable building practices, and the preservation of our region's architectural heritage.

Trades Training:
Preserving our architectural heritage through hands-on trades education.
South Bend TradeWorks advances its mission of preserving architectural heritage by partnering with Indiana Landmarks to offer hands-on preservation skills training. Through workshops in historic window restoration, woodworking, plaster repair, wood floor restoration, painting, and other traditional building and preservation crafts, participants gain practical experience while learning how to care for and maintain historic buildings for future generations.
